Encouraging the meritorious wards of police personnel, Director General of Police ,  J&K, Sh. Dilbag Singh-IPS has granted meritorious scholarship of    Rs. 11,48000/- in favour of 243 wards of serving police personnel.These meritorious scholarships have been sanctioned in favour of 243 wards of police personnel for their brilliant performance in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2018-19. Of these meritorious wards 143 are girls.

The scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each has been granted in favour of 106 wards for securing above 90% marks and Rs. 4000/- each have been granted in favour of 137 wards who have secured 80% and above marks in the class 10th examination.

This year till date, over Rs. 54 lacs has been stationed byPHQ J&K in favour of 783 wards d of serving police personnel for achievingmeritorious success in different academic, competitive exams. The scholarshiphave been granted out of the central police welfare fund vide PHQ order No.3083 of 2019. PHQ has been sanctioning schorships, rewards and financialassistance under different Heads for the wards of martyred and serving policepersonnel to boost their morale.
